Images of Acer Iconia 6120

Acer Iconia 6120 is not the first machine to sport a dual screen. The first was Toshiba Libretto W100 7inch dual screen Windows 7 portable. Iconia is however different from W100 which looks very much similar to that of a coffee table book which features a couple of large 14 inch displays along with a Core i5 processor. Acer wants Iconia 6120 to be a notebook for the masses and hence it has kept the price of the notebook quite friendly and has equipped the notebook with robust features. Check out our exclusive Acer Iconia 6120 review to know this dual-screen notebook has in store for you.

Acer Iconia 6120 Looks and Design

When you look Iconia 6120 from outside, it looks like a high end notebook thanks to its meal lid and polished gloss black plastics. The lid and the bottom are made up of champagne colored metal. The bottom has one solid panel and there are just a couple of physical buttons present on the laptop. On the right hinge you get a power button, while the left hinge activates the virtual keyboard. The two 14 inch touch screen of the machine is surrounded by a glossy black bezel. The notebook is quite bulky weighing approximately 6 pounds and when you carry it home in a messenger bag then you can definitely feel it. The machine is pretty well made and sports a nice and cool look.

It is very easy to upgrade the RAM and other components of the machine. One simply needs to slide the front two rubber feet to unlock its metal bottom cover and then slide the cover to get a peek into the internals of the machine. Once done, one can easily get access to the standard SOIDMM RAM slots, HDD, wireless card and the mini-PCIe slot.

Acer Iconia 6120 Display/Screen

Iconia 6120 is equipped with dual 14 inch displays which are made out of Gorilla glass. This lends durability to the screen and the fingerprint coating helped to reduce fingerprints to some extent. Both the displays have glossy finish which caused a lot of reflections. The colors were a bit muted and we found horizontal viewing angles to be better than vertical angles. A couple of our friends sat together and we enjoyed watching a movie. The colors were a bit muted. When we tilted the screen 180 degrees back, then legibility became an issue. The capacitive touch screens were pretty responsive and they understood our finger gestures quite precisely. Overall the display were quite sharp and colorful.

Acer Iconia 6120 Features

Keyboard and Touchpad

Acer has done an impressive job with their on-screen virtual keyboard. The keyboard is large and one can very easily type on them. We got impressive typing speeds with the on-screen keyboard. Apart from using the physical button on the left hinge to activate the keyboard, one can also activate the virtual keyboard by pressing palms down simultaneously on the lower display. The keyboard extends to the entire length of the screen and the keys are presented in chiclet style layout. The virtual touchpad is quite small, but we did not face any problems using it. We could use it like a real touchpad. There are a couple of virtual mouse buttons below which performed quite well.
